The technology of the E7 explained

10 GbE primary, 1 GbE as reserve

The fast connection carries regular data traffic. The second connection is for fail-safety and is limited to 1 Gbit/s. Both ports do not result in a combined 11 Gbit connection.

Separate switch connections

Two cables to different suitable PoE switches can accommodate a single cable or switch failure. If both connections pass through the same failure point, protection is limited accordingly.

Ten data streams and three radio bands

The radio architecture provides capacity on 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz. For many devices, channel planning and distribution matter more than a single maximum data rate.

Exemplary planning · not a customer project

Campus with multiple floors

A E7 is connected to various switches with main and reserve cables. When testing a switch failure, a reduced data path remains available. Overlapping radio coverage is also planned so that a defective access point is also taken into account.

The specific equipment is checked on site based on the requirements.

When does a different model make sense?

The XGS also offers 10 GbE, but only one LAN port. The E7 is interesting if additional connection redundancy is part of the operating concept.

Questions about the E7

Is the WiFi completely redundant with a E7?

No. The access point itself remains a single device. In addition to two connection paths, overlapping radio coverage and appropriately fused switch and current paths are required.

Does Irontec support planning and setup in Switzerland?

We clarify the deployment, select the additional infrastructure and agree on setup, documentation and ongoing support. Hardware and services are clearly listed in the offer.

Plan and operate appropriately

Radio coverage, channel planning, PoE and roaming are tailored to rooms and devices. Guest and company networks can be specifically separated.

The required number of access points results from radio planning and measurement. Room layout, walls, simultaneous use and the capabilities of the end devices influence the result.
