IDS detects suspicious traffic patterns; IPS can block matching connections. For this model, the manufacturer mentions up to 79 Gbit/s. This information is not a guaranteed speed for every configuration and does not replace proper firewall rules.
The connection rate describes the interface. The IDS/IPS manufacturer specification is 79 Gbit/s and is a different measurement. VPN, packet sizes and additional inspection functions may have different performance limits.
A VLAN logically separates devices, such as guests and workstations. The rules determine which communication is permitted between the networks. A separately named WLAN alone is not a complete security concept.
Multiple access and aggregation levels lead to the firewall pair. Two identical EF cores are planned with separate power and connection paths. The configuration determines which traffic goes through the firewall and which flows locally between networks.
The specific equipment is checked on site based on the requirements.
The EFG is the smaller enterprise alternative with up to 12.5 Gbit/s IDS/IPS and 25G interfaces. The real need counts for the selection, not the largest number.

We plan firewall rules, network segmentation, VPN and high availability. Gateway failover requires two devices of the same model.
Internet speed, VPN connections, activated IDS/IPS features and additional applications are dimensioned together. A single gateway is not a fully redundant solution. Optional CyberSecure subscriptions are not included in the hardware price.
