Dream Machine SE with integrated PoE
The Dream Machine Special Edition adds integrated PoE switching to the rack gateway. It is suitable for installations in which some network devices need to be powered directly from the central console.

The selection depends on your use. Performance values are manufacturer information and are not guaranteed performance for every configuration.
IDS detects suspicious traffic patterns; IPS can block matching connections. The manufacturer mentions up to 3.5 Gbit/s for this model. This information is not a guaranteed speed for every configuration and does not replace proper firewall rules.
Suitable cameras or access points can be powered via the built-in PoE ports. Port speed, PoE class and common budget must suit the consumer. A separate switch still makes sense for many fast access points.
A VLAN logically separates devices, such as guests and workstations. The rules determine which communication is permitted between the networks. A separately named WLAN alone is not a complete security concept.
Some suitable PoE devices are operated directly on the UDM SE. Additional workstations run via a separate switch. The integrated 128-GB SSD and the HDD bay are classified according to the recording requirements.
The specific equipment is checked on site based on the requirements.
The Pro Max offers up to 5 Gbit/s IDS/IPS and two HDD bays. The SE sets a different focus with integrated PoE.

Network management, firewall and other UniFi applications run on one platform. Cameras, data carriers, switches and access points are appropriately supplemented.
Internet speed, VPN connections, activated IDS/IPS features and additional applications are dimensioned together. A single gateway is not a fully redundant solution. Optional CyberSecure subscriptions are not included in the hardware price.
