Bitrate determines the memory requirement
Example calculation: Four cameras, each with an average of 8 Mbit/s, generate around 345.6 GB per day or 2.42 TB in seven days. This is a calculation assumption with no reserve and not a guaranteed camera bit rate; real values are measured.
Disconnect recording from the gateway
Gigabit RJ45 and 10G-SFP+ offer connection options for the video network. A separate platform makes independent dimensioning easier. Drive redundancy is not a replacement for an entire recorder failure strategy.

Multiple cameras with seven day storage
First, average bit rates and recording times are determined. Usable capacity, reserves and drive configuration are then determined. Recalling saved recordings is part of the acceptance process.
The specific equipment is checked on site based on the requirements.
When does a different model make sense?
The UDM Pro Max combines gateway and recording with two HDD bays. The UNVR separates these tasks and offers four bays.

How many days of video can a UNVR store?
This cannot be reliably stated without drives, number of cameras, bit rates and recording mode. Irontec calculates the requirement from these values and plans a reserve.
Does Irontec support planning and setup in Switzerland?
We clarify the deployment, select the additional infrastructure and agree on setup, documentation and ongoing support. Hardware and services are clearly listed in the offer.

The number of cameras, image quality and storage duration determine the hard drives required. Data carriers and cameras are dimensioned separately.
A usable video system requires suitable cameras, network, PoE supply and recording. Storage requirements and access rights are determined before installation.
